Senior Issues

A Strong Voice for Northern Wisconsin Seniors

During my four years in the State Assembly, I fought to protect critical programs for seniors and I will continue this fight in the Senate.

  •  Successfully fought to protect SeniorCare when Governor Walker attempted to cut this critical prescription drug program.
  • Co-authored legislation to ensure that Wisconsin seniors, especially those in rural areas where cell phone service is unreliable or unavailable, can keep their landline telephone service.
  •  Opposed voter suppression legislation that makes it harder for residents of assisted living facilities to vote and allows for more voter intimidation at the polls.
  • Voted against the Governor’s plan to freeze the Homestead Property Tax Credit formula, which will force thousands of seniors to pay higher property taxes and make it harder for them to stay in their homes.

I want to continue standing up for seniors as your State Senator. Safeguarding what you have spent your lives working towards is one of the best ways to protect all of our futures.
